Sugar-Salem eliminates Gooding from contention

Gooding fell to Sugar-Salem in the quarterfinal round of the 3A state playoffs.

The Diggers led 40-0 at halftime and won 47-20.

For the Senators, Shane Jennings was 16-38, 219 yards, three touchdowns and two interceptions; Kurtis Adkinson produced 12 carries and finished with 104 yds; Colston Loveland added 10 catches for 145 yards and one touchdown; Andrew Prince added six catches, 72 yards and two TD's.

Gooding finishes the season at 8-2.

"The boys battled through adversity all year and this game was no different," explained Senators head coach Cameron Andersen. "We ran into a special team tonight and can hold our heads high with the Senator Pride we showed in the second half. There are many faces that have been staples of our program for years that played their last game tonight. We are so thankful for their efforts, attitudes and sacrifices. The future is bright with the Band of Brothers."
