Twin Falls' miscues cost them a trip to the championship bracket

BOISE, Idaho (KIDK/KMVT) They say it's hard to beat a team three times in one season and that rang true for Twin Falls.

The Bruins fell to Idaho Falls 49-44 at Borah High School Thursday night in the 4A quarterfinal. Twin Falls beat the Tigers twice during the regular season, but a disappointing fourth quarter proved to be the difference, when they were outscored 20-12.

Idaho Falls shot better and committed half as many turnovers (7 vs.14).

Both Mitchell Brizee and Ryan Ball fouled out. Brizee left with 12 points and three rebounds. Ball had five points and seven rebounds.

Faust Ystueta posted a game-high 17 points.

Paul Wilson and Keynion Clark both had 12 for the Tigers.

Now Idaho Falls faces Vallivue at 8 p.m. in the semi-final while Twin Falls plays Moscow at 3 p.m. in a loser-out game. Century and Preston face off at 6:15 pm in the other semi-final.
