BURLEY, Id. ( KMVT / KSVT ) Wake in the Snake 2016 is a popular event for Cassia County.
The wakeboarding competition draws all different skill levels with camaraderie at the forefront.
"It has its foothold in the industry, everybody knows about it from Wyoming, to Montana, Utah, Boise, so that's kind of a big deal," explained Chance Bird, who's competing in the Outlaw division.
For Megan Davis of Boise who's competing in the Women's Advanced, "I love the excitement, I love all the little kids that are here. They have such a great attitude, I wish I started that young."
"It might be easier for little kids, but it might be harder because they don't have as much courage as older people," explained Payton Lucas,11 of Utah.
Lucas added, "I have won first place three times, and second and third."
"I like to do wake to wake 180's toe side, and heel side, you're turning the board 180 degrees and landing," added Davis.
Bird explained, "we have some good lakes here so a lot of the pros from around the nation have come to Idaho, so we have a special niche in the wakeboard scene."
Sponsored by Idaho Water Sports, Wake in the Snake 2016 is free to public.
And you can catch all the action from the Burley Golf Course marina. The competition starts at 9 am on Saturday.
