Saturday Evening Forecast

Expect more mountain snow and valley rain tonight as this weekend system makes its way through the region. The Winter Weather Advisory in effect for northern Blaine County has been extended until 2 p.m. Sunday. In the Wood River Valley, lows will bottom out in the mid 20s, and you should have a good shot at seeing more snow, moderate at times, with nighttime snow accumulation between 2-4 inches being possible tonight. The further north, the stronger your chance for snow, the Sawtooth Mountains could see between 8-12 inches by Sunday. Here in the Magic Valley though, weve seen mostly rain if any precipitation at all, and theres a chance for more showers through the evening. For Sunday, theres a chance for some lingering snow showers in the Wood River Valley and rain showers in the Magic Valley. But we should clear up by the evening. Sunday highs, will be in the mid to upper 30s in the Wood River Valley and mid to lower 40s in the Magic Valley. By Monday, well still have relatively cool temperatures in the Magic Valley where highs will be near 40 degrees as well as in the Wood River Valley where highs will hover around 30 degrees. Ahead of an accompanying inversion though, we will see potential for valley fog which you should be prepared for during your Monday and Tuesday morning commute. Our next round of precipitation looks to move in around mid-week Wednesday in the form of mountain snow and valley rain once again. Temperatures will be near normal through Friday in both regions, before the weekend when we expect to move into the above normal range.
