Rock Creek Fire sees surge in calls compared to previous years

The Rock Creek Fire Department is on their toes, as they've seen a big surge in calls over the last several months.

Monday morning forecast

Well happy Martin Luther King Jr. Day southern Idaho! Its a chilly start to our morning across the region, but well see generally warmers temperatures this afternoon as highs are expected to land in the mid to upper 30s today. Were picking up some light snow moving through SW Idaho this morning on our pinpoint doppler, and we could see some of those showers make their way into Twin Falls County this morning. However, it looks like the bulk of the precipitation will arrive after 11 a.m. Theres a chance for scattered/isolated rain/snow showers in both the Magic Valley and Wood River Valley through the evening, and light snow is possible in the central mountains today.

Saturday Evening Forecast

It was great start to the weekend here in southern Idaho. We saw plenty of sunshine in both the Magic Valley and Wood River Valley throughout the course of Saturday. There's some lingering precipitation in the central mountains tonight, which should exit the region by tomorrow morning. Tonight, lows will drop to the upper teens in the Magic Valley and lower teens in the Wood River Valley. Sunday, looks to be another nice one across southern Idaho as mostly sunny conditions are expected to be pretty consistent in both the Magic Valley and Wood River Valley near 32 degrees. Despite that, cloud cover will be on the increase Sunday evening as a disturbance moves into the area presenting a chance for precipitation mainly in the areas of higher elevation on Martin Luther King Day. At the moment, it looks like we'll be mostly cloudy in the Magic Valley and wood river Valley with a chance of rain/snow in both regions. High temperatures will be warmer in the mid to upper 30s in both Twin Falls and Hailey.
