Saturday Evening Forecast

Much of the moisture from last nights system is making its way out of southeast Idaho tonight, and you can expect partly cloudy skies and calm weather in both the Magic Valley and Wood River Valley. Its going to be a cold one, as overnight lows will be in the lower 20s in the Magic Valley and single digits in the Wood River Valley close to 10 degrees. We were able to see a good amount of sunshine today, along with some snow melting in the Magic Valley where high temps were able to climb slightly above freezing. Theres a chance for some lingering snow showers in the higher elevations and places like the South Hills through Sunday, but for the most part we should be dry in both the Magic Valley and Wood River Valley going into the first half of next week. Overall, prepare for slick and icy roads Sunday morning with patchy a.m. fog developing in the Magic Valley. By the afternoon, you can expect partly sunny skies in the Magic Valley with highs landing in the lower 30s, and mostly sunny skies in the Wood River Valley with highs landing in the lower 20s. In the Mini-Cassia region, cloud cover will stick around in some places and you should be prepared for partly-mostly cloudy skies with highs in the lower 30s. For Monday, temperatures shouldnt change too much and well see mostly sunny skies in the Magic Valley and Wood River Valley from Monday-Tuesday. Our next round of active weather looks to move in about midweek, presenting us with a chance for more precipitation and warmer temperatures. Thursday highs in the Magic Valley will be near normal in the mid to upper 30s range and well have a chance for rain/snow. In the Wood River Valley, Thursday highs will be near or slightly below normal in the mid to upper 20s, and theres a chance for some snow. At the moment, this system looks to linger around from Thursday-Saturday and well have chances of rain/snow in the Magic Valley and snow in the Wood River Valley going into the weekend.
