Saturday Evening Forecast
We experienced promising weather conditions to start off our weekend in southern Idaho, as most places saw mild temperatures and partly sunny conditions. However, cloud cover increased by the afternoon and we saw some light rain move into the area. Todays high temperatures were above average in the mid 40s in the Magic Valley and upper 30s in the Wood River Valley. Tonight, you can expect mostly cloudy skies with a slight chance of rain/snow in the Wood River Valley where lows will dip below freezing, and rain in the Magic Valleys where lows will hover in the mid 30s.
A system will move into the area early Sunday bringing mountain snow showers and valley rain. Snow levels from now through 5 p.m. Monday are expected to range between 4-10 inches above 7,000 feet, and 1-4 inches below in the lower elevations. Through the same time period rainfall totals are expected to be below half an inch, and any accumulating snow will be limited by temperatures above freezing, about 5-10 degrees above seasonal averages.
Unsettled weather is expected through Tuesday as theres a chance for rain/snow in the Magic Valley and snow in the Wood River Valley until then. The chance of precipitation will gradually diminish through Thursday, and mild temperatures are expected to remain in effect through the week. By Saturday, next week partly-mostly sunny conditions are expected and high temperatures are expected to exceed the 50-degree mark in the Magic Valley and 40-degree mark in the Wood River Valley.
