. This shower activity should start to taper off as we head into the evening. Mountain snow will still be possible, but at the moment accumulations look to be light as we head into tomorrow morning. A cold front arriving Monday afternoon, is expected to bring additional moisture to the region in the form of valley rain and mountain snow. A Winter Weather Advisory has been issued from 6 p.m. Monday to 10 a.m. Tuesday above Ketchum to Stanley. Snow amounts between 3-7 inches are expected in some portions of the Central Mountains above 6000 ft. with amounts up to 10 inches being possible at higher elevations. Well kick off Monday morning with promising weather conditions as the remnants of todays system exit the region. By Monday afternoon, a second low-pressure system will bring more unsettled weather to southern Idaho. Cloud cover will increase in the Magic Valley and well have a chance of rain showers and isolated thunderstorms, with the possibility of some snow mixing with rain late Monday evening through Tuesday morning. Mountain snow showers will arrive shortly before noon Monday, and at the moment it looks tomorrows snow level will remain between 5,000-6,000 ft. through late Monday night. By Tuesday morning, the snow level will drop close to 3,000 ft. presenting a chance for some rain and snow showers in the lower elevations. From Monday evening through Tuesday, several inches of new snow accumulation is expected in areas above 6,000 ft. with up to 10 inches being possible in localized areas at higher elevations. The rain showers associated with this system should begin to taper off in the Magic Valley Tuesday evening, while the chance of rain and snow in the Wood River Valley and South Hills will linger around through Wednesday morning.

We've seen some light snow showers develop in the higher elevations this evening, but for most of us things should be relatively quiet until we hit early tomorrow morning. A disturbance moving in from the Pacific will result in an increase in cloud cover and moisture in the region for our Sunday. Valley rain showers are expected mainly in the afternoon, with the possibility of isolated thunderstorms through the evening. Light mountain snow showers are possible tonight and will increase through Sunday evening. Sunday snow levels will be between 4,000-5,500 ft. with mountain snow accumulations expected to generally range in the area of 2-4 inches.
