TWIN FALLS, Idaho (KMVT/KSVT) — Around 3:15 p.m., on Thursday, crews responded to a fire in Elmore County.

U.S. Wildland Fire Service Great Basin Unit 1-Boise firefighters, in coordination with the BLM Boise District, responded to the Cangrant fire about 5 miles northwest of Mountain Home, as reported in a post on Facebook.

The fire is estimated to be between 50 and 75 acres and is reportedly running, meaning it is spreading quickly. Officials say some structures are threatened, and Elmore County AlertSense is urging residents to remain vigilant and take appropriate action if needed.

Resources responding include engines, dozers, crews, a helicopter, air attack aircraft and six single-engine airtankers. More resources have been ordered.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
