SHOSHONE, Idaho (KMVT/KSVT) — The Lincoln County Sheriff has been placed on administrative leave.
The county commissioner Rebecca Wood confirmed Friday via email that Sheriff Rene Rodriguez is on paid administrative leave for 30 days and that Chief Deputy Steve Phillips is serving as acting sheriff in the interim.
Earlier in the week KMVT reached out to the county prosecutor and Idaho Office of Attorney General after receiving a tip the sheriff was being investigated.
The Idaho Office of Attorney General said earlier in the week it would not be commenting on the matter.
KMVT was directed to Lincoln County Prosecutor E. Scott Paul for more details.
KMVT will update this story as more information becomes available.
